Qatar flies inaugural to Canberra

Australia's capital Canberra has welcomed the first flight from Doha-based Qatar Airways.
The new service means the airline serves five Australian destinations, namely Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney - and now Canberra.

The flight is part of a Doha-Sydney-Canberra-Sydney-Doha routing.

Canberra Airport executive chairman Terry Snow said: “We appreciate Qatar Airways’ strong support for the nation’s capital.

“An airline of this stature will further boost Canberra’s reputation as a leading tourist destination on the back of record numbers of international visitors in 2017 and Lonely Planet nominating the city a top three destination for 2018.”
