Ryanair extends bid deadline

Independent shareholders in Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus have not responded positively to the takeover bid by rival Ryanair.

Since it launched its EUR748 million bid and asked Aer Lingus’s shareholders to support it, Ryanair has increased its stake in the carrier from 29.82 per cent to just 29.83 per cent.

Its offer has now been extended for five weeks to mid February.
