Despite government advice that international travel could be unwise in 2021 and the possibility that the Tokyo Olympics may be delayed, UK-based easyJet says northern summer bookings at its holidays division are up 250 per cent compared to last year.

Ceo Johan Lundgren told the BBC: “We know that people want to go on holiday as soon as they can."

 

In Tokyo, meanwhile, Japan's prime minister Yoshihide Suga has told media that the Games will go ahead, despite most Japanese citizens saying they 'will not or should not' go ahead, according to media polls.
