Boeing’s president and chief executive officer David Calhoun says the plane maker is pushing ahead with the 797, a mid-market twin-aisle 220-to-270-seat mid-range aircraft able to fly for 10 to 11 hours.

Calhoun last year said Boeing has “some incredible underlying technologies that are going to support the design" for the 797.

Analysts suggest Boeing could have the plane delivered to customers in 2026/27.
