Airlines in the US are starting to change their mask rules after the Centers for Disease Control said they could exempt those with disabilities as defined by the 'Americans With Disabilities Act'.
American Airlines, for example, says exempt passengers must contact the airline’s Special Assistance team at least 72 hours before their flight and must provide supporting documentation from a licensed health care provider, plus proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within three calendar days of departure or proof of recovery from Covid-19.
At Alaska Airlines, customers must contact the airline five days before their flight to request an exemption as well as show a negative test and a doctor's note.
