Figures from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) indicate flight demand measured by the number of kilometres flown by paying passengers fell by 66 per cent last year as passengers worried about the risk of infection from fellow travellers (as well as the impact of travel restrictions and quarantines).
The real risk of in-cabin infections isn't known, but it is believed to be low, despite the rapid international spread of the virus attributed largely to air travel.
