United Airlines and Mesa Air Group have agreed to buy up to 200 all-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) flying taxis from Archer, an electric aircraft startup, for about US$1 billion.
The airlines plan to use the 150mph taxis to carry passengers up to 60 miles to airport hubs.

Archer this week announced it is merging with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Atlas Crest Investment Corporation.
