Australia's Tourism minister Dan Tehan has launched a new 'Event Here This Year' campaign, part of a strategy to aid the event industry's recovery by encouraging Australia-based businesses to hold corporate meetings and events locally during 2021.

The government already has given A$50 million through its Business Events Grants Program, which subsidises up to 50 per cent of participation costs in more than 190 approved business events.

 

"We want a pipeline of business events across Australia in 2021 to build momentum and generate jobs and opportunities in urban and regional centres," Tehan said.
