Major US airlines are pushing back on calls for coronavirus tests for passengers on domestic flights, although the government is leaving the idea 'on the table' for now.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said: “Reports that there is an intention to put in place new requirements such as testing are not accurate.”

Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg and Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, earlier had said domestic flight testing was under consideration.

Airline officials say domestic tests would severely impact demand and discourage people from taking shorter trips.

The airlines also say with more than a million people flying each day, there isn't enough testing capacity to test every passenger.
