US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is expanding its Simplified Arrival at eight preclearance locations in Canada.
Simplified Arrival uses biometric facial comparison technology to automate document checks required for admission to the United States.
CBP’s move is based on the Agreement on Land, Rail, Marine, and Air Transport Preclearance between the USA and Canada that was implemented in 2019.
The first airports affected will be Toronto Pearson International, Vancouver International, Montréal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International and Calgary International.
