Airlines in the USA are backing a plan to provide the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) with data from a voluntary international contact tracing program for all passengers flying to the US.
They propose asking customers to voluntarily provide the following:
Legal name.
Two phone numbers.
Email address.
The address of where travellers will be staying in the US or address of permanent residence in the US.
Airlines previously had argued they don’t hold the needed information on passengers who buy tickets from other sellers such as on-line travel agencies, so this move is significant.
