Jet2 to bill passenger for costs of flight diversion

The UK's Jet2 says it will pursue a disruptive 20 year old male passenger for the five-figure costs of diverting a flight from Glasgow to Shannon Airport in Ireland after he allegedly attacked crew and other passengers.

It also has banned him for life.

The other passengers on the flight were taken to Tenerife on a replacement aircraft.

Jet 2 managing director Phil Ward said: “It is a disgrace that hardworking customers, families and colleagues should be subjected to such appalling behaviour.”

Ward said the event should “act as a stark warning to anyone who thinks that it might be acceptable to behave in such an unacceptable manner on one of our flights”.
