European Sleeper joins Eurail

European Sleeper is the latest railway carrier to join the Eurail network.
As well as their network access now, from July 01, travellers with a Eurail Pass will be able to board European Sleeper trains between Brussels and Berlin with eight stops along the way including Antwerp, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Deventer.

Christie takes top job at Best Cities

Loren Christie (pictured right) has been appointed managing director of the Best Cities Alliance.

He takes over from Lesley Williams, who has led the BestCities team for three years.

Christie has more than 25 years of experience in travel, tourism and business events.
He held various leadership roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Destination Toronto and spent 20 years in broadcast television including a regular travel segment on CTV, Canada’s national TV network.

Looijen moves to Bali

Sander Looijen (pictured right) has been appointed general manager, Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali and the resort’s adjacent Bali International Convention Centre.
Looijen joined Marriott International in 2002 as management intern with The St Regis Shanghai and most recently was cluster general manager at Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung.

First of planned Heathrow security strikes cancelled

ANA to return to Perth

Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) is to resume flying to Perth, Western Australia, with a three times a week ex Tokyo Narita B787-9 schedule from October 29, 2023.
The service, which was suspended in March 2020, will go daily from March 30, 2024.
