Air France crash - court rules in favour of families' civil suits

A Paris court has cleared Air France and Airbus of manslaughter charges arising from flight AF447, which on June 1 2009 was en route overnight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris when it 'disappeared from radar' in the middle of a storm over the Atlantic and crashed into the sea, killing all 228 people on board.
Giving its verdict, the court said there was “no certain causal link” between crew, airline or aircraft manufacturer that could be blamed for the crash.
