Sharm el-Sheikh hit by more cancellations

The UK's Monarch Airlines has cancelled flights to Sharm el-Sheikh until October 30, while Thomas Cook has cancelled its northern summer flights there and EasyJet won't fly from Gatwick, Manchester and Luton but will resume flights from Stansted as soon as the UK government says it is safe to do so.

Thomson Holidays has cancelled most flights to Sharm until the end of September, but it is hoping to relaunch weekly flights from Gatwick and Manchester on May 26 if it gets the government go-ahead.

BA flights to the resort have been cancelled until June 30.

If the government travel advice changes before the end of October, Monarch said it will reassess the situation and decide when to restart services to Sharm.
