Ryanair names potential international partners

Irish budget carrier Ryanair is moving ahead with its plans to offer code share partner flights with global airlines.

It says it is in "active talks" with a number of larger airlines, hoping passengers heading to Europe will use Ryanair's extensive European network of about 180 airports.

Outbound, passengers would be able to book tickets via the Ryanair web site to destinations in the United States, Caribbean or South America that are served by its potential partner airlines.

Under the plans, the larger, long-haul airlines would pick up the tab for airport baggage and transfer fees and also would take responsibility for any compensation in the event of delays.

Carriers named by Ryanair as in talks now are Aer Lingus at Dublin, TAP at Lisbon, IAG at London Stansted and Virgin Atlantic and Norwegian at London Gatwick.
