Macron considers airports privatisation

The government of new French president Emmanuel Macron has flagged a privatisation program for airports operator ADP to help fund a EUR10 billion government drive to boost industry and innovation. To start the process, he needs a parliamentary majority at the country's June 18 poll. Near-final results from the first-round parliamentary elections showed Macron’s movement winning by a large margin.
European and Chinese investors already have shown interest in ADP, though French infrastructure and airport operator Vinci, which already holds eight per cent of the company, is seen as the most serious candidate.
Aside from two Paris hubs, ADP manages or has stakes in 23 airports around the world, including in Belgium, Georgia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Chile.
It intends to increase its stake in Turkish airport operator TAV Airports to 46 per cent for US$160 million and also to expand in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East andAfrica) and Central Asia regions.
