Qantas launches new Frequent Flier tier

Australia's Qantas has put flesh on the bones of earlier promises to make changes to the group’s frequent flyer program, with chief executive Vanessa Hudson and new Loyalty boss Andrew Glance saying the overhaul means frequent flyer members will be able to access 20 million-plus more reward seats via Classic Plus Flight Rewards, a new way for members to use their Qantas points to book flights.

On the new offer, one frequent flyer point effectively has a fixed value of A$0.01¢ (one Australian cent) for economy flights and 50 per cent more for business class flights.

It's open now for international sectors, with domestic coming by end year.

The carrier hopes the new system will be welcomed by its frequent fliers.
