Travel Corporation slims contracting

Australia's Travel Corporation has further centralised its product contracting division.

Ian Clark, general manager - Supplier Relations for The Travel Corporation said that for destinations with more than one FIT company under contract, the contracting of rates and inventory will now be undertaken by the Central Contracting Unit on behalf of all brands, in the same way that the Australian product range currently operates. All other functions within its FIT brands will remain unchanged (accounts, vouchers etc).


Under the new plan, Creative Holidays will continue to product manage and contract the following destinations from within the brand: USA, Canada and Hawaii; UK and Europe and car rental; Africa, New Caledonia and Vanuatu.


As a result of the contracting adjustment, staff changes will include Chris Hallett becoming contracting manager for Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong & China under the Travel Corporation; Mark Langdon becoming contracting manager for Bali and South East Asia Cruises under The Travel Corporation and Jacqui Browne  becoming contracting manager for Thailand, Fiji, Tahiti, Vietnam and the Arabian Peninsula under The Travel Corporation.
