Asia Pacific fares worst for BA

Cabin crew strikes at British Airways have contributed to a 14 per cent overall reduction in passenger numbers, though Asia Pacific services were down 22.4 per cent, the carrier says.

Overall premium traffic fell 6.5 per cent, while North and South American routes were down 8.5 per cent.

Meanwhile, the last in the series of planned five-day strikes in the dispute has begun.

Members of Unite will stay out until next Wednesday and more industrial action is threatened.

Talks have failed to resolve the issues, mainly centred on withdrawn airline travel perks for strikers.
