A Rebuild Bali Festival (KEMBALI20 says more than 100 storytellers and culinary figures will join discussions and performances during the 29 October – 08 November event.


Founded by Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati – an independent, not-for-profit foundation in Ubud, Bali – KEMBALI20 is an online celebration of literature, food and culture.
 
Due to Covid-19, Yayasan indefinitely postponed its annual events, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) and Ubud Food Festival (UFF) – instead creating KEMBALI20; a digital festival to continue supporting Indonesia’s creative and culinary industries.
 
Key presenters include:

• Kevin Kwan, listed among Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2018, author of the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy and Sex and Vanity.
• Haitian-American writer Edwidge Danticat, author of Everything Inside.
• Maya Soetoro-Ng, Former US president Barack Obama’s sister, author of the  children’s book Ladder to the Moon.
• Richard Fidler, host of the Australian Broadcasting Commission’s Conversations program.
• Eka Kurniawan, the first Indonesian writer to be nominated for a Man Booker International prize.
