Malaysia inks Jet deal

Malaysia’s Malaysia Airlines and India's Jet Airways have inked a code-share agreement for flights between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Chennai, India from March 3.  Jet Airways’ two-letter code also will appear on Malaysia Airlines flights operating between Kuala Lumpur and four other Indian cities — Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Air Canada in C$1b loss

Air Canada’s financial position is being questioned after it reported a 2008 C$1 billion loss.  With only a reported C$1 billion in cash, the Canadian carrier has a large pension deficit and C$1 billion in debt repayments due over the next two years, including $660 million this year alone.

Americas event postponed

The global economic climate has forced Reed Exhibitions to postpone the launch of its Americas Incentives and Business Travel Mart (AIBTM). No new dates have been set but it is expected to be staged in Baltimore, USA in late 2011 or early 2012 after the global economy has picked up.
