European court clarifies compensation rules

Europe’s Court of Justice has ruled European airline passengers are entitled to compensation when a flight is cancelled because of a technical fault, meaning technical faults can no longer be categorised as ‘extraordinary circumstances’, which fall outside consumer compensation legislation.

US-based event companies Live Nation and Ticketmaster have agreed to merge to form a new company called Live Nation Entertainment. The deal creates one of the largest live entertainment companies in the world. The new company is expected to promote up to 22,000 concerts annually and own more than 140 venues globally.
