Melbourne has won the right to host the World Diabetes Congress in 2013, which is expected to attract more than 12,500 international researchers, medical practitioners and government policy experts to Victoria, injecting more than $63.4m into the State economy.

ADTA appoints MICE executive

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has appointed Ben Alcock as its trade / MICE promotion executive.  He will be based in ADTA’s new Sydney office and joins the authority after four years as trade marketing executive for Virgin Atlantic Airways (Australia).  Alcock also has held various positions with Trailfinders Australia.
