Alaska jet incident prompts criminal investigation

The US Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 flight which lost a cabin panel at 16,000ft on January 5 when the jet was climbing through 16,000 feet with 171 passengers and crew on board, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing.

UK adds to premium air tax

The UK is raising the tax on premium class flights.
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt increased air passenger duty (APD) on premium air fares in his March 6 Budget, saying he was making “a one-off adjustment” to “account for high inflation in recent years”.
