Hilton's Asia-Pacific president Alan Watts says his guest profile is changing, with more of his guests travelling less far and returning more often.
According to Companies Market Cap, an on-line tool that ranks companies by market capitalisation, Irish budget carrier Ryanair is now the largest airline in the world, with a market cap valued at US$29.63 billion, more than Delta Air Lines (US$27.30 billion), Southwest Airlines (US$17.74 billion), Air China (US$15.45 billion) and Singapore Airlines (US$14.49 billion).
Istanbul,Turkey-based Turkish Airlines says it's aiming for flights to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia via Singapore and/or the Middle East under new fifth freedom rights. (A 'fifth freedom' flight is an international service that does not take off or land within the carrier’s home country.)
