Wisbrun to head Skyteam

SkyTeam global airline alliance has appointed Michael Wisbrun as managing director, replacing Marie-Joseph Malé effective 01 June. Malé, the first managing director of SkyTeam, set up the central office in 2009 but has decided not to extend his contract.


Based in the central office in Amsterdam, Wisbrun, a former KLM Cargo chief, will be responsible for implementing the future strategic plan as determined by the SkyTeam Board.


Among the priorities outlined in the strategic plan are continued efforts to expand the SkyTeam network and enrich the alliance proposition, with new customer-centered products and services.


SkyTeam also has announced the appointment of Su Liang, a senior executive from China Southern as deputy managing director effective 01 June.


*SkyTeam’s 13 current members are: Aeroflot, Aeroméxico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, TAROM and Vietnam Airlines.
