A new Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone will track air cargo shipments, automate processes and improve cargo visibility in the Chinese city in partnership with travel software firms Champ Cargosystems and SITA.
As air cargo demand globally slows in line with falling e-commerce and other verticals' totals, Colorado, USA-based Burrell Aviation is proactively offering airports a 'cargo facility in a box' solution, an all-in-one package of financing, construction, marketing, leasing and operation of cargo and other airside activities in exchange for exclusive long-term ground leases.
Delivering freight across the UK could become more efficient and cleaner with a GBP7 million Department of Transport (DfT) fund that will roll out innovative new ideas and technology across the industry. The freight innovation fund (FIF) will go to up to 36 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
International transport and logistics company Geodis has made the following appointments: Stéphanie Hervé, Group executive vice president, Contract Logistics; David-Olivier Tarac, Group chief financial officer and Amaury Valicon, Group chief performance officer.
Hervé and Tarac also will become members of the Group’s executive committee, working with Marie-Christine Lombard, chief executive officer of Geodis.
