Qantas freight, passenger figures on the up

Australian airline Qantas has announced an Underlying Profit Before Tax (Underlying PBT) of A$417 million for the half-year ended 31 December 2010, a materially-stronger result than for the half-year ended 31 December 2009 and with Qantas Freight showing strong growth.

Australian airlines’ on-time performance slips in 2010

For the year ended December 2010, on time performance over all routes operated by participating airlines (Jetstar, Qantas, QantasLink, Regional Express, Skywest Airlines, Tiger Airways and Virgin Blue) averaged 83.3 per cent for on time departures, and 81.8 per cent for on time arrivals, according to new data from the Australian Bureau of Infrastructure,Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE).
