Russia’s government says it may soon launch a ‘passenger and freight carriage, aircraft repair and maintenance, production and provision of in-flight food, aircraft leasing and related services’ airline after the Russian Technology Corporation, the Moscow city government and the administration of Eastern Siberia's Krasnoyarsk Territory agreed to merge several airlines from the troubled AiRUnion alliance as a way of easing the carriers’ cash-flow problems.

BAWC adds Dubai flights to winter schedule

The UK's British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has confirmed the launch of a third daily Dubai passenger service as part of its winter schedule. There is just one change to the long-haul freighter program with the London Stansted - Hong Kong rotation, which will see Munich replace Cologne from 29 October, giving customers mid-week direct access to the hub. The current short-haul freighter summer schedule will remain in place for the winter.

US air cargo company Forward Air Corp has reported a higher third quarter net profit at US$12.1 million, up from US$10.8 million a year earlier. Its Q4 estimate is, however, at least three cents lower than analysts expected at 40-44 cents per share.
