Aloha cargo suitor pulls out

Saltchuk Resources has withdrawn from the bidding for Aloha Airlines' cargo unit. Seattle, USA-based Saltchuk said it was unwilling to raise its US$13 million bid to the US$20 million threshold required by Aloha's primary lender. Meanwhile, Aloha management is seeking a court order against its cargo pilots to prevent them striking or disrupting operations.

Aircraft manufacturer Airbus has increased prices for its aircraft. On top of the 2.74 per cent ‘normal’ escalation for the year 2007, the price increase comprises an additional US$2 million per single-aisle aircraft and US$4 million per wide-body long range and A380 aircraft.
