China acts to ease quarantine pressure on Shanghai hotels

As it battles Covid outbreaks, China has opted to ease the pressure on quarantine hotels in the Shanghai area by diverting flights to other airports. 
 
The new rule will apply from March 21 till May 1 and a total of 106 flights operated by Air China, China Eastern, Juneyao Airlines, Shanghai Airlines and Spring Airlines will be affected. All five airlines have bases at Shanghai Pudong Airport.
 
China currently requires all inbound international travellers to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival either at home or in government hotels.
