Thailand opens doors to more visitors

From next month, June, Thailand will offer longer visa stay periods for tourists, postgraduate students and remote workers and also promises better visa conditions for retirees.

Visitors from 93 countries - up from 57 - will be able to stay for 60 days and others will be eligible for 60-day visas on arrival.

Foreign students will be permitted to stay for a year after graduation, while insurance requirements for foreigners seeking to retire in Thailand will be relaxed.
The new measures are part of efforts to boost visitors from Thailand's main and fastest-growing source markets.
