Tui flight under investigation

A Tui (tour operator) flight headed for the Canary Islands from the UK's Bristol Airport on March 4 carrying 163 passengers and six crew, cleared the adjacent A38 road by only 100 feet when its B737-800 air throttles malfunctioned, the UK Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB) says.
The fault meant the jet took off with insufficient thrust and was only 10 feet off the ground at the end of the runway.

It's alleged the pilots 'did not notice' the plane was well below its intended height.

The AAIB is now looking into the fault - and if or how the pilots missed a routine takeoff check.
