Qatar Air sees light at the end of Australian tunnel

Qatar Airways says despite being snubbed previously, it is back in talks with the Australian government to increase services to the country.

A request by the state-owned airline to operate more routes to Australia was rejected last year.

"We see (talks) moving in a positive way," Qatar Air ceo Badr Mohammed Al Meer told reporters.

"Hopefully, in the next few months we will get some positive news ... and expand and grow the Australia market."
