Cathay to add Cairns capacity

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific is recommencing flights to Cairns, Australia from December this year. 


The airline will operate a seasonal service of three flights per week to and from Cairns between 17 December 2024 and 29 March 2025. 

This will include both Christmas and the Chinese New Year festive holidays, when Tropical North Queensland traditionally welcomes an influx of international visitors. 

Cathay Pacific’s ex-Australia services will also provide extensive new connections for locals heading overseas, contributing to growing international passenger numbers to pre-Covid levels.
