Perth man set up fake airline/airport wifi networks

Perth, Western Australia man Michael Clapsis, 42, who allegedly set up fake, free wifi networks to steal others' personal data, has been granted bail on nine cybercrime charges.

He was charged with unauthorised impairment of electronic communication, possession of data with the intent to commit a serious offence, unauthorised access or modification of restricted data, dishonestly obtaining personal financial information and a 'possession of identification' offence.

In court, Australian federal police alleged Clapsis created wifi networks at Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide airports that mimicked legitimate networks to trick users into entering their personal details.
