EASA issues airworthiness directive on Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 787 engines

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) on the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine that is one of the two used on Boeing 787 jets.

Eight different Trent 1000 engine types are affected, though the regulator has exempted engines with the R-R modification 72-AK645 installed during production or while the powerplant was serviced.

According to EASA, the AD will require operators to meet compliance criteria.

According to ch-aviation, there are 76 Boeing 787-8s equipped with the eight engine types, not including two former Norwegian Boeing 787s that were scrapped.
