FCm buys strategic Singapore firm

FCm Travel Solutions has strengthened its operations in Asia with the acquisition  of Singapore-based Air Services International (ASI) and the appointment of a new general manager to oversee growth in the region.

FCm will merge ASI with its existing operations in Singapore, effectively doubling its presence in the market. Together, the businesses are expected to generate about S$50million in total transaction value during 2010-11.

The deal coincides with the appointment of Suyin Lee as general manager of FCm Asia, a role that includes regional sales and account management.

Lee, who will be based in Singapore, is  a long-time employee of Flight Centre Limited and has worked in various roles including general manager of FCm’s Greater China business for three years.

In her new role, Lee will oversee the overall growth and development of FCm’s corporate, leisure and events businesses in Singapore, with a view to establishing the country as a key regional hub for Flight Centre in Asia.

Lee takes over management of the partner network from Joseph Kao, who is stepping down from his role as director partner network, Asia.
