Qantas adds more flights on PER-SYD route

Qantas today confirmed an additional six weekly services on its Perth-Sydney route, to commence from July this year.

Ian Gay, regional general manager Western Australia for Qantas said that the additional services would take the total frequency on the route from 48 to 54 return flights per week.

“These additional services will enable growth on the Perth to Sydney route and is a sign of improving passenger demand in this market,” he said.

“This improved schedule will see a greater service offering for our customers on one of our key domestic Cityflyer routes.”

The additional capacity will support customers travelling at peak business times, and the new services will include: An additional Perth-Sydney service operating daily from Monday to Saturday departing at 07.05 hrs and;
An additional Sydney-Perth service operating daily from Sunday to Friday departing at 15.10 hrs.

Gay said the new services on the route will allow customers the option to fly from Sydney-Perth in mid-afternoon, and was a response to customer feedback.

Qantas has also invested $75 million in the redevelopment of its domestic terminal at Perth Airport, including a stand-alone security facility, additional quick-check kiosks and baggage carousels, further aerobridge capability, expanded seating and the refurbishment of the Qantas Club lounges.
