Google into travel search?

Search engine and emerging 'cloud' solutions firm Google reportedly is in talks to buy ITA Software, an airline IT and services provider - and parts of the industry don't like it.

USA-based ITA is an airfares provider used by airlines, travel agents and other sites, including American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Hotwire, Kayak, Orbitz and Microsoft Corp's Bing.

The concern is that Google might use preferential information from ITA to boost its own search services ahead of ITA's customers, though Google supporters say the company has a history of not abusing its market position.
