Half million passenger loss for BA

Walkouts by UK carrier British Airways' cabin crew saw the carrier shed nearly 500,000 customers last month compared to a year earlier.

In June 2009, 2.9 million passengers flew, compared to 2.6 million last month - a drop of 12.5 per cent.  Load factor dropped 2.1 per cent to 77.5 per cent.

Premium passengers fell 9.2 per cent, while economy customers dropped 11.4 per cent.
