Program to boost Tas business events numbers

Business Events Tasmania and Tourism Australia have announced a co-operative marketing campaign to boost the number of business events delegates visiting Tasmania in 2011 by more than 1,400 people.

“The funding provided through this joint program will allow Business Events Tasmania to increase delegate numbers at events being hosted in the state in 2011 and also to encourage all delegates to tour Tasmania before and after their conference,” said Stuart Nettlefold, chief executive, Business Events Tasmania.

“We anticipate that our campaign will increase the number of business events delegates visiting Tasmania in 2011 by more than 1,400, increasing the direct economic impact of these events by nearly A$1.8 million for the local economy.”
