The conference, focused on lactation professionals and others who assist mothers and babies with breast-feeding, will have ILCA delegate members from as many as 50 nations around the world.
Confirming the win, Sandra Chipchase, chief executive of the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau (MCVB) said: "This five-day business event will not only bring in valuable delegate dollars to Melbourne, but it also will provide a catalyst for attendees and their accompanying families and friends to engage in pre and post touring around Victoria.
"While other cities around the world are reluctant to commit to new infrastructure and major refurbishments in the current economic climate, Melbourne continues to invest in its future."
