AEG Ogden given nod for Perth Arena

Brisbane-based AEG Ogden has been given a contract by the Western Australian government covering operation and facilities management of the Perth Arena. AEG Ogden is a joint venture between the Australian based Ogden IFC and AEG Facilities, which is a stand-alone affiliate of the Anschutz Entertainment Group that operates or consults with more than 90 of the industry’s pre-eminent venues worldwide.

WA Sport and Recreation minister Terry Waldron said the new state-of-the-art facility would  be open in 2012 and it was essential it be operated by a world class venue operator with the skills and network to attract the national and international events West Australians deserved.

“AEG Ogden is one of the leading sports and entertainment companies in the world, specialising in venue ownership and management of venues such as the O2 Arena,  London; Staples Centre, Los Angeles; Acer Arena, Sydney; and Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane,” said Waldron.

“AEG is responsible for the management of venues in the Asia Pacific region, including a network of arenas, stadia, convention and exhibition centres and performing arts theatres in Australia, China, Malaysia and Qatar.”
