Semillon and seafood event ‘revamped’

Organisers of the the New South Wales Hunter Valley Semillon and Seafood Festival say it will be completely revamped in 2010 - with a new format for the main event and a fresh line up of satellite festivities over three days from October 08 to 10.

The Main Event, usually hosted in April, has been moved to October to coincide with the launch of the 2010 Hunter Valley Semillons. 


On Saturday October 09, visitors to the event at Tyrrell’s Vineyard, Broke Road, Pokolbin, will be some of the first in Australia to taste these new wines and mingle with winemakers.


The  event also will include a series of masterclasses, activities and VIP experiences including ‘Hunter Valley Wine Show Trophy and Medal winning Semillon’ Masterclass with the Wineman Peter Bourne and some of the region’s top winemakers; a seafood cooking demonstration; seafood talks; an oyster and Semillon bar; a ‘Museum to current release Semillon’ Masterclass and a boutique Semillon maker’s marquee.


Entry to the event this year is free. Master classes and VIP experiences can be booked in advance, and tickets will be available online in the near future.
