New airline focuses on dogs

Bark Air, a new airline that specialises in being dog friendly will soon fly between London and New York and New York and LA for US$8,000 (GBP6,400) for a one way ticket including luggage and a transfer from the destination airport.


Dogs will be able to walk around the plane during flight, with concierges 'getting to know' passengers and their dogs before the flight.

There will never be more than 10 passengers on board and people under the age of 18 are not welcome. 

Flights start on June 23 and will operate only a few times a month. 

Matt Meeker, co-founder and ceo at Bark said dogs and their human companions will be offered an efficient check-in process with no crates, stressful checkpoints or screening,

The routes are from Westchester County Airport, New York to Los Angeles's Van Nuys and to the UK's London Stansted.
