Qatar Air seeks Virgin Australia stake

Doha-based Qatar Airways is seeking to buy up to 20 per cent of Virgin Australia, Reuters reports.

The Australian airline is owned by US private equity firm Bain Capital, which previously wanted - but delayed - a A$1 billion listing of Virgin on the Australian Securities Exchange.

A Virgin Australia announcement could be made by early July.
