Japan is to gradually ease Covid-19 border curbs in a phased approach, according to chief cabinet secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, with daily limits on the numbers of border entrants raised to 5,000 people later this month from 3,500 and quarantine periods for business travellers cut to three days from 10.
