Chinese manufacturing activity slows

Chinese manufacturing figures suggest the admitted downturn there may worsen, with the state-affiliated China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing's purchasing managers index down 2.9 percentage points to 50.4 per cent for May, while an HSBC survey that is more focused on exporters shows manufacturing continues to contract.
